Snow Valley Mountain Resort Policy on Mobility Devices

For more information contact: ada@snow-valley.com

Thank you for your interest in visiting the Snow Valley Mountain Resort. We will make every reasonable accommodation to ensure you have a pleasant visit. For your convenience, there are designated parking spaces are located on the north side of the main restaurant building. A wheelchair access ramp into the building is located on the NE corner. Some venues and services in our base area are accessible only by staircase. If you wish to visit these venues, or have difficulty accessing any area, ask any Snow Valley employee for assistance.

Winter Season
Snow Valley allows the use of adaptive devices or other “manually-powered mobility aids” designed for use on the slopes. Adaptive devices are any specialized equipment that has been designed and manufactured primarily for use by individuals who have disabilities, including without limitation mono skis, bi skis, outriggers, etc. Our Adaptive Sports Center does stock such devices and more including instruction with adaptive instructors.

Snow Valley has determined that the use of any power-driven devices or vehicles by the public, including other power-driven mobility devices used by individuals with mobility disabilities, would conflict with Snow Valley’s safety requirements necessary for the reasonably safe operation of our on-slope activities. These safety concerns include the use of devices on the slopes that expose the user and skiers/snowboarders to a safety hazard; collisions with downhill skiers and snowboarders; and the use of devices that may provide access into closed areas that pose avalanche hazards. These safety concerns are compounded by our facility’s high volume of trail use. These safety requirements are based on actual risks and are not intended to be discriminatory in any way.

Non-Winter Operations
Snow Valley is not open to the general public during non-winter seasons (April through November). Slope access to Snow Valley during the non-winter seasons is restricted to participants of scheduled, special events only. Environmental concerns and user safety require that, during non-winter months, any access by power-driven devices by the public be limited to areas intended for motor-driven vehicle access. A map of approved non-winter motorized vehicle routes is available upon request.
