Green Valley Lake, CA, USA

Snow Valley Mountain Resort operates under special use permit from the United States Forest Service and as such we take pride in doing whatever we can to make our operations as environmentally friendly as possible.

EnvironmentNot only do we recycle beverage containers, but we also recycle cardboard and office paper waste. We also recycle any used cooking oil type waste produced by our Food & Beverage operations.

During Summer 2018 we have begun operating Columbia/Tomberlin Vanish electric vehicles on the mountain. These 4×4 vehicles have zero emissions and are 100% electric with low impact to the surfaces driven on as compared to regular fossil fuel vehicles.

Most importantly, we have invested significant financial resources in cutting power usage.
We have installed VFD (variable frequency drive) pumps to more efficiently operate our snowmaking plant. In addition, we were the Southern California launch customer in 2000 when we began installing SMI Snowmaking Fan Guns. This equipment has cut power usage by over 70% in comparison to using our former air/water snowmaking system.

In addition we have been adding automated snowmaking guns to our fleet to further add efficiency to our snowmaking system.

It is our goal to continue these steps to be more efficient and protect important and precious resources.
